Most of you already know that Sharkmob had to restructure, and therefore many of us were out of a job due to redundancy last December. I was in the process of union negotiations all the way up 'til February when I signed a deal, and have been on "garden leave" ever since.
I was looking for jobs since before then, though, and the interview process for Rennsport took some time, and several good interviews (including an interview with the founders.
Found my new home
So today (April 7:th) I had my first day at the office. Which won't really be my office, since the position is fully remote. But I had to fetch a computer and sign into all the ecosystems (and whatnot), so one chapter closes and another begins.
Rennsport is a high-fidelity sim racing platform built on Unreal Engine 5 that prioritises ultra-realistic physics and professional-grade competition. It focuses heavily on the digital ownership of assets and the integration of large-scale esports ecosystems to bridge the gap between virtual and real-world racing.
The community consists of all levels of enthusiasts, but I think my experience with hardcore communities mixed with various levels of casual (from light to max) will be of use here.
I'm excited, and it feels good to work on something that isn't a personal side-project again. ;)
